Culture Credit
Part of learning another language is also learning about the people and culture of the countries and places where that language is spoken. Keep your eyes and ears open for German cultural opportunities in our area.
Each semester, students will need to participate in and/or attend cultural activities. Each activity they participate in is worth a certain amount of “cultural points,” and they must be sure to follow the instructions for each activity so that they have the proper documentation to earn full credit. There are more ways to earn culture credit than are listed. If you come up with any ideas, YOU MUST OKAY it with me prior to completing it in order to receive culture credit!
Each time a student completes an activity for culture credit, they should log the info on the point-sheet on their portfolio (on Google Classroom), place the documentation in their portfolio (with a link, new slide, or attachment in their digital portfolio). Work will be checked by the teacher and the points earned will be logged into the computer in a timely manner.
(IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE STUDENT TO LOG THEIR CULTURE CREDIT POINTS!)
Each semester students will aim to earn 100 points, however, they will have the opportunity to earn extra credit by performing additional tasks or by turning in all 120 culture credit points by the deadline. See the chart below for point breakdown:
Possible Points
120 25 pts. extra credit MAXIMUM
100 100% Full Credit
100-0 Minus points (missing credit)
See the list of ideas for culture credit below that are available for download. Students are are expected to keep track of their own points throughout the semester. If instructions are not followed, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE CREDIT. It is up to you to keep track and log your points. See Frau if you have any questions!
