We are traveling first to Paris, France before our exchange to Germany.
Day 2 Bonjour Paris
Meet your tour director and check into hotel
Paris city walk, Île de la Cité, Notre-Dame Cathedral,
Île St. Louis, Latin Quarter
Dinner in Latin Quarter
Day 3 Paris landmarks
Paris & Versailles guided sightseeing tour
Arc de Triomphe, Champs Élysées, Eiffel Tower, Champ
de Mars, École Militaire, Les Invalides, Conciergerie,
Tuileries Garden, Place Vendôme, Opera House,
Versailles guided excursion
Day 4 Paris
Louvre visit
Fragonard's Perfume Museum visit
Crêperie dinner
School Exchange: Karl-von-Closen Gymnasium
Begin classes at the Karl-von-Closen Gymnasium (similar to our high school, with the expectation that all students go on to University). Welcome party for students (Welcome gifts and pot-luck by host families)

Field Trips
MUNICH (7/14/17) A one-day field trip to Munich by train. Students plan activities within groups of 4 and are allowed to explore the city and ride the subway on their own. Highlights are the old city hall, the English Garden, BMW museum, and shopping district. The morning will be spent on a tour at Dachau, the infamous concentration camp.
VIENNA (7/8/17 - 7/10/17) A two night weekend trip to Vienna, Austria by train. Students will stay in a hostel. Tentatively, a city tour, apple strudel making, and tour of Schoenbrunn palace are planned.
NEUSCHWANSTEIN CASTLE (7/12/17) A day long trip to world-famous Neuschwanstein Castle with our host teachers and host students by bus. A castle tour and free time for hiking/shopping are included.
SALZBURG (7/6/17) A day across the border to Salzburg, Austria by bus. First a tour of the salt mine (see below) and then 3-4 free hours in Salzburg to explore in groups of 4. Highlights include Salzburg fortress, locations where Sound of Music was filmed, shopping district, Mozart's birth house.
SALT MINES (7/6/17) This tour of the Berchtesgaden Salzbergwerk takes place before exploring Salzburg. The tour begins with a train ride into the mountain, followed by a slide deeper into the mountain, a walking tour, and a boat ride. Students get keepsake photos from the tour.
